ExaminationIf our consultation suggests that you’d likely be helped with chiropractic care, we’ll need to perform a complete examination. Our patients often comment on how thorough our examination is, compared with other practitioners they’ve consulted. Our examination varies based upon what we discover during the evaluation of your health history. What we find will tell us which examinations we need to conduct:
Chiropractic ExaminationThese tests can include postural evaluations, static and dynamic palpation and other procedures to determine whether spinal misalignments exist. Chiropractors specialize in the detection and correction of spinal misalignments (Subluxation). Ontario Chiropractic doctors are licensed to make a diagnosis, performing a thorough examination is a vital part of this process. Rest assure that if we find a condition that will not respond to chiropractic, we will refer you to the appropriate person who can. |
The Nervous System ScanOur state of the art diagnostic instrument will objectively help us …
The scan technology concept has been refined over the years and was recently endorsed by the NASA space agency as having the highest technology for the purpose of advancing human function. This is one of the most important test that we will perform during your care. Especially since symptoms are always the last to show up and first to go, it is important to monitor the function of your nervous system using objective scientific methods. The two most common nerve scans that we perform are sEMG and Thermo scan. 1) sEMG scan (surface electromyography)Your muscles are controlled by motor nerves. The sEMG measures how well the motor nerves are working by reading the amount of electrical current found on the muscles. Subluxations cause nerve disturbance leading to muscles dysfunction (indicated by color changes). 2) ThermographyThermography is a way of measuring tiny differences in skin temperature that can reveal Autonomic nervous system disturbances. The skin is the largest organ in your body and the blood vessels under the skin work as the body's thermostat controlling its temperature.
The thermal scan provides us with vital information to monitor the autonomic nervous system for proper function. 3) Our most recent addition is the Pulse Wave Profiler

X-RaysDiagnostic imaging can help locate any bone abnormalities, fractures and determine if spinal decay is occurring. The longer the spine is left uncorrected, spinal decay could be advancing with little or no symptoms. At the end of your first visit we will give you some important information on what the doctor examined you for and we will schedule your second visit.
The significance of each of these tests will be explained to you on your Second Visit, your Report of Findings. Objective testing gives us a baseline for future reference so we can accurately measure your progress to see how your spine is correcting and how well your nervous system is functioning. |

When the communication between the Nervous System and the blood vessels are disturbed (which can easily be triggered by spinal misalignments), it causes the body's thermostat to malfunction producing an imbalanced temperature reading along the spine. These blood vessels in your skin are controlled by the same part of the Nervous System that runs your organs and glands, known as the Autonomic nervous system.
